Making Muliplication Facts Automatic
4 week online summer course for rising 4th and 5th graders. Class meets Wednesdays online from 5:30-6:20pm. June 11, 18, 25, and July 2nd. $250
This course is intended for students who’ve already learned multiplication in school. It will focus on making multiplication facts to 12 automatic with an emphasis on building a strong understanding of facts through their relationships. Each week will focus on a different set of facts that are related and build upon each other.
Students will have weekly homework - a choice of different options (games, songs, worksheets) for short daily practice. Students will be provided with additional work to continue throughout the summer to support their progress.
Building Fluency with Addition within 100
4 week online summer class for rising 2nd and 3rd graders. Class meets Wednesdays online from 4:30 - 5:20pm. June 11, 18, 25, and July 2nd. $250
This course is intended for students who’ve been working with addition to 100 in school and need some additional support building fluency. It will focus on building fluency within 100 with an emphasis on building a strong understanding of facts to 20 through their relationships. The first two weeks will focus on addition within 20. The last two weeks will extend these strategies to addition witin 100.
Students will have weekly homework - a choice of different options (games, songs, worksheets) for short daily practice. Students will be provided with work to continue throughout the summer to support their progress.
SFS Girls Math Camp
Morning Math Camp for Girls - rising 3rd, 4th and 5th graders.
June 30th - July 3rd, 9-12am
Join Maggie for a week of morning math exploration at The San Francisco School. Together we will investigate mathematical mysteries, ponder mathematical puzzles, analyze and create patterns and play games, all the while deepening our understanding and love of mathematics. Come immerse yourself in the wonder and beauty of math!
In education for over 25 years, Maggie has taught grades 1st-7th in public, private and homeschool settings and worked in English and bilingual settings in the states and abroad. She’s worked as a K-5 Math Specialist, Learning Specialist and Educational Consultant for Contexts for Learning Mathematics with whom she’s co-authored two Problem String Books for Fluency and Beyond.
